According to a recent survey, retailers and UK businesses lose almost £13.8m worth of man hours each year from workplace violence. And this is increasing.
A British Crime Survey found that in 2000/2001 there had been a 100% increase in the number of reported robberies and a 40% increase in the number of incidents of physical violence against members of staff.
