Move over Dan Brown,a new thriller writer is in town. Fresh from a career "deskbound at a large insurance company", David Harrison has changed tack and penned Sins of the Father, a racy romp set on the South Coast.

The book's hero, Nick Randall, is a freelance insurance investigator who uncovers a major scam. Along the way, he has a few encounters with the ladies, with some particularly sizzling moments - "she took [his hand] and pressed it between her legs, where he could feel the heat even through the thick denim" and "his hands moved around to cup one of her breasts".

Backchat isn't sure whether these Jilly Cooper moments are based on real-life experiences in the lifts at Lloyd's, but it sure beats the day job.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
