Smart and Cook will roll out the Acturis Broker Platform (ABP) across its network of offices after successfully piloting the system in its Leeds and Harrogate branches.

The broker's Lincoln and Hull offices have implemented ABP, with Newcastle and Stockton scheduled to go live in November 2003 and February 2004 respectively.

Smart and Cook managing director Paul Meehan said: "Acturis has worked together with us to develop the system in new areas, and the integration with Microsoft Office has added a whole new dimension to the system, as we move towards the FSA regulated market.

Three other brokers are also implementing ABP - London-based Thornton Elliot; Cumbria Insurance Brokers, of Carlisle; and Southport-based Southport Insurance Brokers.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
