Michael Butler, associate director of broker Smart & Cook, has been elected as the 50th president of the Insurance Institute of Leeds.
He plans to encourage the taking of professional qualifications.
Speaking at a dinner to celebrate the Institute's 50th anniversary, Butler said: "Some degree of dumbing down is almost inevitable as new technology is implemented. However, this should not be at the expense of either service or professional standards."
The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
