Merricks LLP and Fairmays Solicitors have announced details of their merger, which took place earlier this month.
Under the deal all Fairmays' partners will become equity Members of Merricks LLP.
The two firms will continue to trade under their respective names for immediate future.
Merricks LLP Chief Executive Michael Lambert said: "Our merger with Fairmays is part of our planned strategy to have offices in key commercial centres across the country.
He added: "The two firms fit well together and will enable us to offer a broader service to all our clients. Fairmays prestigious offices and extensive UK and international client base will complement our network of commercial clients across the country."
Fairmays spokesman Andrew Miller said: "This is an exciting development for Fairmays that will give us an opportunity to expand the services offered to our clients."
