Only a few places remain for one of the most talked about events this year, the Insurance Times conference, Capital - Taking a Stake in the Future.

This unique event, sponsored by AXA, covers the key issues of raising and investing capital in the general insurance market. It takes place on 24 October at One Great George Street in London's Westminster.

A first-rate cast of speakers will include Sir Laurie Magnus of Lexicon Partners, Cox's Neil Utley and Des Potter from Barclays. Nigel Barton and Sian Fisher will reveal how they secured capital for new launch Oxygen, while staff from venture capitalist Englefield will speak about the recent Cox buy-out.

Topics covered include how to raise capital, what brokers want from banks, a case study on new entrants and how to cope with the FSA's client money rules. Anthony Hilton, financial editor of the Evening Standard, will chair.
