Standard Life Healthcare is to offer an occupational health package as part of its corporate private medical insurance.

The product is designed to help employers identify and manage health risks, helping them comply with new employment legislation.

The company said legislation had become more complex. It required companies to deal with employee health and comply with anti-discrimination laws.

The company said that the health package was also designed to reduce the cost of staff absence.

Standard Life Healthcare sales and marketing director Iain McMillan said: "Occup-ational health meets the need of corporate customers.

"We are confident that it will help intermediaries to retain their business by reinforcing the value they provide."
