SVB board postsSVB Holdings has appointed Jeremy Adams and Peter Matson to its board. Adams is chief executive of SVB's Lloyd's managing agency subsidiary, SVB Syndicates, as well as group risk officer. Matson was founding director and chief underwriter of PRI Group. He joined SVB in January.

Link team moves Link Underwriting Agency has relocated its management team from Maidstone to new offices in Kings Hill, Kent. The relocation is the result of the sale of Link to Guardian, a Caribbean-based financial services company, from previous parent The Rubicon Corporation.

MMA rate cuts Intermediary-only insurer MMA has introduced rate reductions and simplified product literature for its single trip travel insurance product, Flagship. The changes, which MMA said would make the sale process easier and more competitive for brokers, came into effect on 1 April.

FSA book changes The FSA has finalised proposals to make a number of changes to its training and competence handbook. The changes include a move from approved examinations to appropriate examinations. The proposals are set out in CP 194.

Biba appointmentBiba has appointed Steve White as regulation and compliance manager. White, who joins Biba from the FSA's general insurance team, will head up the new broker compliance facility.

Groupama jobsGroupama has admitted that job losses are likely if proposals to run down its personal lines claims centre in Birmingham, which employs 150 people, and transfer the positions to the group's Port Solent claims handling centre are approved.

Ace safety checksAce Europe will introduce health and safety visits in the summer for companies it provides employers' liability cover for. It will use the data obtained to benchmark specific trades, enabling more accurate pricing of risks.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
