Lloyd's guru Reg Brown managed to open the first virtual insurance conference while holidaying in Barbados. Those hoping for a live link with the former CII president replete with bathing costume and a suntan were disappointed, however.
Brown recorded his welcome speech well before flying off to sunnier climes, on a trip he is rumoured to have won at an insurance industry do.
Fortunately, he is no stranger to making virtual appearances, as those who saw his recorded speech for Insurance Personality of the Year at the Insurance Industry Awards can attest.
