Swift action taken by Ashworth Mairs Group's major loss unit allowed 40 businesses in a major Belfast shopping area to open for business the day after a serious fire.

Adjusters and specialist surveyors arrived within minutes of police alerting them to a devastating fire at an unoccupied building in the street. Their rapid intervention in conducting a site investigation of the building allowed the authorities to authorise its early demolition for safety reasons the following morning.

Paddy O'Hanlon of Ashworth Mairs Group said: “This is a classic example of how a properly coordinated team effort can minimise the effect of a potential disaster.”
