The University of Bradford has put out a tender for a broker to negotiate its insurance cover. It has set a deadline of 25 February for brokers to submit bids. A spokeswoman said the university is seeking "significant savings" from the use of broker services.

The Bristol-based Audit Commission has called for tenders on its entire book of insurance services. A spokesman said: "In the past the use of brokers has proved to be one of the most effective ways of saving us money."

Melton Borough Council has revealed that it does not plan to use a broker for renewals. A spokesman said the council has, "fared well in the past" by negotiating cover direct with its municipal insurers.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
