Lloyd's broker boss will retain current role

Steve Matanle, chief executive of Lloyd’s broker Thompson Heath & Bond, has joined the main board of parent company THB Group as an executive director.

Matanle, who joined THB six months ago, will retain his current role.

Before joining THB, he held senior roles at Marsh and has been chairman of the London Market Brokers' Committee and Market Reform Group.

Group chief executive, Frank Murphy, said: “My fellow directors and I are confident that Steve’s wide-ranging industry experience and expertise will enhance the plc board and we look forward to his contribution.”

Matanle added: “I am delighted to accept these additional responsibilities and look forward to contributing to THB’s strategic development”.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
