The Lloyd's market could cash in on hundreds of millions of pounds of US aviation premium if the American government fails to renew a federal insurance programme.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) provides insurance for US domestic airlines, which means airlines are not required to buy cover from the commercial markets.

The cover is due to be renewed at the end of the month, but it is under-stood no deal has yet been reached.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
