Management: Frank Murphy, group chief executive of Lloyd’s broker THB, boosted its London market team in February. Owen Davies was named head of the commercial team, Mike Fountains regional development manager and Kevin Kidby a specialist motor fleet broker.
Big story: THB is in takeover discussions with US wholesale broker AmWINS. Three tycoons, A-Plan founders Tom Duggan and David Saville and investor Ian Donald, declared 15.1% ownership of THB in July. Its £28.3m valuation means the trio’s stake is worth £4.2m.
The London-based group made a pre-tax profit of £702,000 for the year to 31 October 2010, up 22% on the previous year.
