Travel insurers are more likely to apply terrorism exclusions for those travelling to Turkey following the recent spate of terrorist attacks in Istanbul, said Primary Travel Insurance managing director John Bibby. "Exclusions for those travelling to Turkey are more likely to be applied now an event has taken place," said Bibby.

He said insurers tended to be sympathetic to travellers who were the victims of unexpected terrorism incidents. These included those already in Turkey and who were affected by last week's events.
