Plum hires underwriting duo to support growth

Plum Underwriting has hired two new underwriters.

Loren Mason has joined Plum with immediate effect.

Mason was previously at Prestige Underwriting.

Stuart Bromley joins Plum from NIG.

Both new hires will report to operations manager Mahben Quddus.

Plum director David Whitaker said: “The growth of Plum directly reflects the need by brokers for non-standard household solutions and the underwriting skill and appetite to cater for these non-standard risks.

"We are extremely pleased to announce these two new appointments, both of whom have proven track records, to help meet that demand."

The Non-standard household insurance specialist, which in February announced sales had increased 54% year on year, said it expects at least the same level of growth in the next 12 months.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
