Stuart Bromley named development underwriting manager

Household insurance underwriting agency Plum has promoted Stuart Bromley to the position of development underwriting manager.

The promotion is intended to increase support for regional brokers.

Bromley joined Plum in 2011 from Direct Line Group’s commercial division NIG as non-standard property and mid net worth underwriter. He was promoted to underwriting team manager in mid-2012.

In his new role, Bromley will report to Plum’s head of business development Steve Bishop.

He will be tasked with bringing Plum’s underwriting and business development functions closer together with a view to capitalising on new opportunities. These include book transfer arrangements.

Plum said key brokers will also benefit from increased office visits and additional hands-on support for brokers’ staff.

Plum managing director David Whitaker said: “By investing in placing Stuart on the front line we will be able to offer our trading partners enhanced business development support, practical underwriting support and faster risk decisions.”
