But at 4% UK remains worst for uninsured drivers in Europe

The number of uninsured drivers has fallen by 20% during the past four years, Motor Insurers' Bureau (MIB) figures show, Channel Four reports.

An estimated 1.5 million motorists were on the roads with no insurance cover during 2009, down from 1.8 million in 2005. But 4% of drivers in the UK do not have any cover, the highest level in Western Europe.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
