Amicus department head John Earls has been appointed to the board of the Financial Services Skills Council.

FSSC chief executive Teresa Sayers said Earls' experience as head of the Amicus trade union research section and his background in financial services would be an invaluable asset to the council.

Earls said of his appointment: "The work completed by the Skills Council during its first year of operation is something that I have been following with particular interest and I look forward to the challenges ahead as skills issues are pushed to the top of the industry's agenda."

Earls is also a a member of the FSA advisory group on financial capability and is a member of the panel on the Economic and Social Research Council's e-society research program.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
