Golf superstar Indy Bunker was recovering in hospital this week following a savage attack by members of the New Pikes Golf Club.

The attack is thought to have been a vengence hit after it was discovered Bunker was sleeping with the wives and partners of some club members.

One member, a local pharmacist, injected industrial paint stripper into some condoms and planted them in Bunker's golf bag.

Bunker was next seen screaming and holding his genetalia in the woods behind the 15th green.

He was rushed to hospital where he underwent a skin graft. Bunker, the club's star attraction, is expected to be out of action for the rest of the year "at least".

The cost of the incident is expected to reach at least £500,000.
