The International Underwriting Association (IUA) will run a London market group for professional indemnity underwriters to promote "sound principles for the best practice of PI insurance".

Chicago market expands
The Chicago Mercantile Market (CME) is to expand its weather derivatives with the CME-Carvill hurricane index futures and options on futures contracts. The underlying indices will be calculated by Lloyd's reinsurance broker Carvill, which tracks and calculates hurricane activity.

Yes to sponsor campaign
Online insurance provider yesinsurance.co.uk will be a major sponsor backing the EarthFireIce campaign with the provision of funding and promotional support. EarthFireIce claims to be the world's first online campaign to drive action from individuals on global warming using pledges displayed on a Google map integration. It was due to be launched on 20 February.
