It's a rare occurrence for Insurance Times to find something to praise in Post Magazine. This week is the exception.

At the British Insurance Awards, Post Magazine showed a degree of courage by including Independent Insurance in the short-lists for three of its awards. It must have been tempting to drop Independent silently from the short-lists and pretend its judging panel had not found things to admire in this failed insurer.

Whatever went wrong at Independent – and the picture looks darker day by day – there was much to admire in the company and its staff. Employees should be entitled to retain a feeling of pride for their work in the insurance industry. Post Magazine has acted in a brave and admirable manner.
