Wellington ups Katrina estimate

Wellington Underwriting has upped its estimated pre-tax losses from Hurricane Katrina to $125m from an initial forecast of $75m.

In a statement, the company also gave an initial forecast of losses before tax for Hurricane Rita of $36m.
