Towergate swoops for underwriting manager duo

Home insurance

Towergate Underwriting has been boosted by a triple hire including the return of former household underwriting manager Alyson Williams less than six months after she joined Gallagher.

Williams will be household development director at Towergate Underwriting. She originally joined Towergate in March 2010.

She left in September last year to join Gallagher as a development manager.

Personal lines underwriting chief executive, Andy Westby, said: “I am very pleased to see Alyson return to the company.

“She has been instrumental in helping grow the household business through her intermediary relationships and product development skills. I am looking forward to her continuing business growth in this area.”

Duo join from Ink and Navigators

Meanwhile, at Towergate Underwriting financial risks, Angus Ogg and Mark Richardson have been appointed as underwriting managers.

Ogg more recently worked for Ink Insurance where he led the solicitors professional indemnity (PI) campaign for 2011 renewals, whilst Richardson was class underwriting manager for Navigators and has held senior positions with Saturn, AIG (Chartis) Navigators and Chiyoda.

Towergate commercial lines underwriting chief executive, Scott Brown, said: “I am delighted to welcome these new additions to Towergate at a time when we have seen fantastic growth and continue to build plans for even more expansion into 2012 and beyond.”
