Global insurance broker Willis has announced the appointment of Artur Niemczewski as the new chief operating officer of Willis International Holdings.

Niemczewski has been charged with improving operational excellence across its international network of offices.

Willis' chief executive Sarah Turvill said: "We have ambitious plans to grow WIH. With his extensive management experience and proven record in business improvement and development, Artur will play a significant role in helping us to achieve our goals."

Niemczewski was previously director of strategy at AXA Insurance, where he restructured AXA's UK property and casualty business.

Niemczewski said: "I am very excited about Willis International Holdings, its growth potential is enormous."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
