Motorcycle specialists Devitt Insurance Services has won the contract for the third year in a row to provide insurance that comes free for the first year with every new Yamaha moped and scooter.
Devitt has been specialising in motorcycle insurance since 1936 but motor director Bernard Marsh said moped and scooter sales had damatically increased over the past few years.
“They attract a high percentage of young riders and premiums can be extremely expensive, so the free insurance scheme is a huge sales attraction,” he said.
New riders can upgrade their free third party insurance to third party, fire and theft or fully comprehensive by paying for the extra elements when they buy from a franchised Yamaha dealer before April.
