Pay and jobs decided in London, sponsorship in Chicago

Aon announced its £80m four-year shirt sponsorship deal with Manchester Utd to coincide with redundancy notices being handed out at its London headquarters, The Telegraph reports.

"It would appear to be an appropriate time for an Arsenal fan to leave the company,” said one Aon worker.

The job losses came on top of no bonuses this year and a freeze on salaries.

Aon has emailed staff explaining that pay issues are decided in London while sponsorship is decided in Chicago, the Telegraph said.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
