History: Aon's stock is traded on the Chicago, Frankfurt, London and New York stock exchanges and has grown steadily since its founding in 1982. Aon now has offices in more than 120 countries.

In the UK, 2001 has seen Aon embark on an extensive business transformation plan, with Aon's reinsurance and retail insurance broking and consulting divisions merging together with the human resources and employee benefit consulting arm to trade together under the name of Aon Limited.

This move has been made in response to the needs of Aon's clients and the recognition that Aon will be able to provide an enhanced service to clients by presenting separate business units as one organisation. Intrinsic to this is the establishment of a UK-wide client relationship management function, with responsibility for client strategy, management and business development.
