Company history: Liverpool Victoria Friendly Society was first formed in 1843 by a group of friends to help families provide for funeral expenses. Since then, it has grown steadily to become one of the UK's largest Friendly Societies. Its subsidiary, Liverpool Victoria Insurance Company, is one of the largest direct insurers of cars, buildings and home contents in Britain.

With the acquisition of the Frizzell Group in 1996, Liverpool Victoria became the first and only Friendly Society to own a bank.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
