In October 2001, Mitsui Marine & Fire Insurance and Sumitomo Marine & Fire Insurance merged and re-emerged as a new entity, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance (MSI). Spearheading the merged entities is MSI's London market operation Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance (London Management), established in April 2000.
