Marsh senior vice-president and head of solicitors’ professional indemnity Janine Parker has left, Insurance Times understands. Parker headed up the Marsh team responsible for sourcing solicitors’ PI insurance for law firms of one to four partners.

Biba has written to chancellor George Osborne to urge the government not to raise insurance premium tax in the budget this year and to better recognise the value of insurance brokers.

Former AXA Personal Lines managing director of intermediary and partnership sales Mike Keating has joined Midas Underwriting as managing director of UK operations. He left AXA last December.

Promotions

Allianz Commercial has promoted Karen Johnson to property manager and Stephen Cornforth to property underwriting manager, both in London, and appointed Chris Kraushaar as property manager in Manchester.

AXA and QBE bought parts of HSBC Insurance. AXA is paying $494m (£314m) for assets in Hong Kong, Singapore, India and Indonesia, and GI distributed by HSBC in Mexico.
