Catherine Murphy appointed in new role to support major risks claims service

ACE European Group has appointed Catherine Murphy in the newly created role of claims client relationship manager for its major risks business.

Murphy will be responsible for the delivery of a responsive and customer focused claims service, as well as maintaining and enhancing the current claims relationships with major risk clients.

Murphy will report to Graham Chesman, claims manager, UK & Ireland. She joins ACE from RSA, where she worked for 11 years in various roles across underwriting, global services and claims. Most recently, she held the position of UK claims relationship manager.

Her appointment follows the recent additions of Jeff Carr and Shaun Edwards as client relationship managers in the major risks team.

Phil Sharpe, director of casualty and major risks, UK & Ireland, said: “We are focused on customer service and establishing the major risks sector as a key segment for ACE. Part of this will be our ability to deliver a claims service that supports and informs clients throughout the whole process. Creating this new role will enable us to fully achieve this aim.”

Murphy added: “Catherine’s experience in this sector will be a valuable addition to our team and play an important role in achieving our objective of delivering a market leading claims service.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
