Software house Acturis is set to expand its user base by nearly 10% after signing an exclusive deal with Jelf Group, winning the business from Open GI and Sectornet.

The system will be rolled out across the Jelf Group, which consists of almost 200 users over eight sites, from September 2006, with a view to completion by April 2007.

Open GI, formerly Misys, previously provided the software for Jelf's broking division, while Sectornet worked with Goss Group, which Jelf acquired earlier this year.

Acturis will provide a single integrated IT platform across the enlarged insurance business.

A spokesman for Acturis said: "[The Jelf deal] means another significant 'aggregator' is using Acturis.

"With Smart & Cook, Oval, Broker Network, Giles and now Jelf using Acturis it means we can be part of their growth story - indeed help them to roll-in acquisitions effectively from a systems viewpoint."

He added: "Jelf is very much a broker that is going places, and we want to be a small part of its success story."
