Accident management firm shows commitment to the Aldermanbury Declaration

Juliette Brown

Accident management firm Ai Claims Solutions has moved a step closer to meeting new insurance professional standards after operations manager Juliette Brown became the first member of the team to achieve Chartered Institute of Insurance (CII) certification.

The Blackpool-based company was the first of its kind to sign up to the insurance industry’s Aldermanbury Declaration.

Ai Claims director of human resources Pauline Jeffers said Brown was part of a 12-strong group of employees who have been studying for the qualification, which has resulted in her achieving CII certificate status.

“We were the first accident management company to sign up to the Aldermanbury Declaration, which commits insurance businesses to meet common professional standards,” Jeffers said. “I’m delighted that Juliette has led the way to become our first recipient, and we remain on track to meet the 18-month deadline which we’ve set to meet our first tier of Aldermanbury commitments.”

She added that the first tier of commitments included supporting 40 staff with their CII study.

“Our industry is under the spotlight from regulators and customers as never before, and as the ethical provider in our sector we are determined to meet the very highest professional standards. It’s not only good for customers; it’s also good for winning new business,” she said.

Brown, who has been at Ai since 2009, said: “I’m delighted to be one of the first Ai team members to gain accreditation, and look forward to continuing to improve my skills and qualifications with Ai Claims.”

She said she had to pass three examinations in total to gain the CII certificate. The remaining delegates are on course to complete their studies shortly and a second group of eight are already part way through the qualification.
