Busy times at RBS, but not at RBSI.

RBS is having a busy week while ignoring the elephant in the room.

As Backchat went to press, the bank had made plenty of announcements but none that shed any light on the planned sale of its insurance arm. RBS announced an extension of its insurance partnership with BMW, and trumpeted the fact that RBS-owned Devitt Insurance Services has been appointed to provide the Post Office’s motorcycle insurance.

It also announced a deal with Homeserve, which has secured a three-year contract with RBSI. The home emergency service provider will handle product replacements on contents claims for consumer goods including electronic equipment.

Business as usual, it seems.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
