Allianz Commercial creates new professional indemnity team ahead of product launch

Allianz Commercial has established a new Professional Indemnity (PI) underwriting team in preparation for the launch of a new product later this month.

Emma Thirkettle, regional PI Underwriter, and Chloe Crosby, assistant PI underwriter, have been recruited to coordinate PI underwriting operations and will report directly to head of property and casualty, Steve Coates.

Thirkettle joins from Chubb where she had been a PI development underwriter for the past three years.She will be the main contact point for employees at Allianz Commercial’s 14 regional branches, supporting them to reach their local PI targets.

Crosby previously worked for Lloyd’s broker, Bannerman Rendell, and has specialised in PI for the past 10 years in both broking and underwriting roles.

Commenting on the appointments, Steve Coates said: “We have been developing a PI product for a number of months and Emma and Chloe will provide valuable underwriting expertise as we prepare to roll out the product across our branch network.

Coates added: "This is an exciting time to be joining Allianz’s Commercial business as we continue to develop our casualty offering. Emma and Chloe’s appointments will help to ensure our venture into the PI market is a success.”
