Richard Webster appointed as CEO from 2008

A recent strategic review at AMG has led to number of senior management changes: the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer and a revised role for Kevin Wood.

These changes are designed to provide a platform from which the newly enlarged Group of companies can leap forward in the future.

Kevin Wood’s current role as Group Managing Director is splitting into two distinct functions. As Chief Operating Officer (COO), Kevin will focus on the day to day operation of the Group including technical expertise and claims handling processes. Richard Webster, the newly appointed CEO, will focus on the strategic direction and leadership of the newly enlarged Group.

Richard will begin working for AMG at the beginning of 2008 and will report directly to the Board where Martin Long continues as Chairman of AMG. Until the end of the year, Kevin Wood will continue as Group Managing Director.

Kevin Wood, Group Managing Director said: “After much discussion, we have redefined my current role where my main focus is now on the day to day operation of the Group. I look forward to working with Richard to help drive AMG.”

Richard Webster said: “I am delighted to have this opportunity to lead AMG on to the new stage of its development”.

Martin Long, chairman, said: “AMG is now a much larger, more complex business facing new and fresh challenges. These recent changes are a result of a major review and are designed to take AMG onto even greater success. We are absolutely focused on making AMG the best option for our insurance customers and their policyholders.”
