ACE’s Nelen joins with remit to develop more focused strategy
Amlin Corporate Insurance (ACI) has appointed Bert Nelen as its new executive vice-president for marine.
As a member of ACI’s management team, he will report to chief executive Kim Hvirgel.
Nelen joins from ACE European Group where he held the position of marine manager continental Europe, central and Eastern Europe and emerging markets since 2000.
Amlin plc’s international development director David Harris has been acting as interim EVP marine pending a permanent appointment and will shortly return to his position within the Amlin Group.
Hvirgel said: “Under David Harris’ strong leadership ACI’s marine division has developed a more focused strategy, which Bert Nelen will further enhance and implement in the coming months. I’m confident that with Bert on board ACI marine will continue to improve its performance while remaining the market leading Benelux marine insurer.”
