Aon and Towergate are believed to be considering rival bids for Heath Lambert according to reports this morning.
Reports said broker Heath Lambert is already thought to have rejected an approach from Willis, in favour of Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT).
However, a stock exchange announcement from JLT this morning said preliminary discussions between the two had been terminated.
