Broker to place cover and advise on risk
Birmingham International Airport (BHX) has appointed Aon to manage its insurance programme and provide strategic advice on risk matters.
The Birmingham-based insurance broker will be responsible for placing cover for the airport’s principal risks.
The team will deliver broking and servicing expertise coupled with technical knowledge in a broad range of areas.
Mark Hattersley, acting finance director from BHX, said: “The Aon team came across as highly confident, working well together as a team. With a strong focus on partnership during the review process, we felt that they demonstrated a fresh and vibrant approach which, together with their status as a leading broker, identified them as the broker best positioned to maximise placement of the Airport Company’s insurance portfolio.”
Lisa Bartlett, branch director at Aon in Birmingham, added: “BHX is the UK’s fifth largest passenger airport and is second only to Heathrow for business traffic.
"It is a truly fascinating local business, which allows us to demonstrate our industry credentials. We worked really hard to secure the appointment and they are now a valuable addition to our client portfolio.”
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
