EPI cover a response to creeping employee protection legilsation, company claims

Arc Legal Assistance has launched its first standalone employment protection insurance (EPI) product to provide cover to small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) employers,

In a statement the company said the move was a response to increasing legislation designed to protect employees.

Arc’s first client for the EPI product is HR Insight, a specialist human resource consultancy which provides practical advice in all aspects of employment and employment law to SMEs. Arc said it had provided HR Insight with a delegated authority to agreed limits for underwriting of individual client’s risks and policy fulfilment and administration.

Arc has also developed a streamlined claims process enabling HR Insight to handle claims directly. This process is an important element, Arc said, of HR Insight’s aim to deliver a faster and more effective service to their clients.

Heather Matheson, Managing Director, HR Insight, said: "SMEs face more and more issues from increasingly stringent employment law and practices. Being able to offer up to date advice and information is important but offering comprehensive legal cover together with an efficient claims service is invaluable."

Richard Finan, Director of Arc added: "HR Insight has a reputation for delivering highly effective HR services to SMEs across a range of sectors. Our business model, together with their experience and knowledge of the issues enabled us to develop a flexible and relevant solution."
