Appoints two new underwriters to cater for the growing demand from its South West based brokers

Arista has increased its underwriting resource in Bristol with the appointment of Nigel Johnstone and Rosie Sadler to cater for the growing demand from its South West based brokers.

Joining as development underwriter, Johnstone will assume responsibility for developing relationships and account management. His main focus will be on South Wales, where he will spend time underwriting on brokers’ own premises to help them grow their businesses. Sadler takes the role of underwriter specialising in commercial combined and new product releases.

Both will report to David Aslin, Arista’s Bristol based regional manager.

Prior to joining Arista, Johnstone was regional sales manager for RBS Finsure Premium Finance. With 15 years’ experience in the insurance industry, he has also gained development underwriting experience with NIG and Iron Trades. Recently ACII qualified, Sadler joins Arista following four years at Hiscox as a PI and commercial underwriter, and was previously employed by Watson Wyatt as an actuarial consultant. She was also named Young Achiever of the Year by the Bristol Insurance Institute.

Commenting on the appointments, Arista’s Chief Executive, Charles Earle, said: “The independent broking community in the South West has responded extremely well to our approach telling us that it genuinely facilitates their own growth and success. The appointment of Nigel and Rosie will help us continue to supply a first class service to our existing panel in the region as well providing the resource to introduce our formula to new brokers and new products.”

Earle added: “Providing direct access to technical expertise has been one of our key propositions for brokers so it is terrific news that someone of Nigel’s calibre will be available to work with them from their own offices. As for Rosie, not only does she bring underwriting experience, but the drive and creativity which earned her young achiever award will prove to be a great asset to us and our brokers when it comes to developing new products.”
