Aspen Insurance UK has appointed an International Property Facultative team based in London and Paris.

Aspen said Heather Goodhew, manager and senior underwriter, will be responsible for the account.

Goodhew joined Aspen Re in November 2005. She was previously at XL Re where she established, then managed and developed the International Facultative account for 10 years.

Aspen Re also announced the opening of its first Paris office on 30 May, 2006.

The property facultative underwriters based in Paris will
target Continental European business, extending the reach of Aspen Re's established London operations.

Antonio Vilchez has been appointed as Underwriter and Branch Representative in Paris.

Vilchez joined Aspen Re in May 2006 from XL Re Europe where he was in charge of the continental European Property Facultative operation based in Le Mans, France.

Prior to that he worked as a multinational risks underwriter with Royal & Sun Alliance in Paris and in London.

Vilchez will shortly be joined in Paris by Alain Planchard who starts with Aspen Re in early June.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
