Nic Nicandrou follows Tidjane Thiam to Prudential

Aviva’s finance director Nic Nicandrou is planning to join Prudential replacing Tidjane Thiam – who was also poached from Aviva a year ago – who moves to chief executive in October, the Telegraph reports.

Mr Nicandrou's departure is likely to be seen by the City as another blow for Aviva, the paper said.

Prudential would not comment on the appointment of Mr Nicandrou, who is a Greek Cypriot and has worked for Aviva for 11 years.

The appointment, handled by search firm Egon Zehnder, may be announced within days.
