Comedian Paul Whitehouse to encourage firms to call brokers

Aviva is to launch its first TV advertising campaign, aimed specifically at commercial customers, in October.

The campaign is designed to encourage commercial clients to speak to their broker for all their commercial needs.

The TV campaign is set to launch in early October and last ‘a number of weeks’. It comes on the back of Aviva’s rebrand campaign, thought to cost about £15m.

Janice Deakin, corporate sales director at Aviva, says: “This campaign recognises the importance of the expert and individual advice available through local brokers and underlines our commitment not to offer commercial insurance direct.

“Our advertising has been very visible as we've rebranded to Aviva and many brokers have told us that they didn't think we would ever do a TV campaign such as this, aimed purely at the commercial broker market. In this instance I couldn't be more pleased to prove them wrong, hopefully they'll be pleased too.”

Deakin said plans for the campaign had been in the pipeline for a while and were not connected to the rebrand campaign.

“Creating a TV campaign that encourages customers to contact their local broker for advice is not only a first for Aviva but also another great example of our commitment and support to the broker channel, and recognises how valuable that two way support is.”
