Aviva said it expected its results for the 2003 year of account to exceed market expectations.
It said it expected its operating profit for the year to be approximately £1.9bn, compared with market forecasts of approximately £1.7bn. Operating profit for the 2002 year of account was £1.7bn.
Aviva said it would report its preliminary results for the full year on 25 February 2004.
