Aviva wins tender to extend Santander home insurance deal for three years

Aviva is renewing its household insurance distribution deal with Santander for a further three years.

Aviva said it won a competitive tender process to renew the Santander contract which enables them to distribute household insurance products to Santander’s 25 million customers through its network of 1300 UK branches.

The new three year deal will run from the beginning of 2011 and continues Aviva’s relationship with Santander and previously Abbey.

The development comes just weeks after Aviva won a new, five year, distribution agreement with Santander to provide life insurance protection products.

UK general insurance chief executive, David McMillan, said: “This win underlines Aviva’s position as the leading general insurer in the UK and the quality of our offer to banking partners.

"We have a successful relationship with Santander which from next year will span both general and life insurance products, highlighting the strength and breadth of Aviva’s product portfolio.

"Our unique perspective across life and general insurance will allow us to develop a range of products tailored to Santander's customers' needs."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
