RSA ranked seventh
Aviva has topped the green list against 300 of Europe’s biggest companies.
The UK insurer has the lowest greenhouse gas emissions according to the Europe 300 Carbon Ranking, published by the Environmental Investment Organisation.
RSA joined Aviva in the topped 10 after being ranked seventh.
The EIO, a UK-based independent non-profit research body, ranks companies on their public reporting of emissions.
It believes European companies still have a long way to go on reporting greenhouse gas emissions,with 13% of companies still providing no public information.
The EIO's study found only 43% of firms released complete and verified information for their own emissions.
Sam Gill, the organisation's operational director, said: "Despite most companies producing corporate social responsibility reports, there remains a remarkable lack of transparency and clarity in greenhouse gas emissions reporting."
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
