Alex Turner promoted into role

AXA Commercial Lines and Personal Intermediary has appointed a new sales manager for its Ipswich branch as part of a renewed focus on the mid-market sector.

Alex Turner, formerly an account manager in the branch, takes on the role after the departure of Iain Hill, who joined AXA’s Glasgow branch as sales manager earlier this year.

Turner will be responsible for managing the branch’s broker relationships, new business and retention, with a focus on developing the insurer’s mid-market proposition in the region.

Ipswich branch manager Sean Clark said: “Alex has been with us for some time now in a variety of roles and it is good to see that he is now ready to take the next step up in his career.

“It is particularly pleasing that we were able to make an internal appointment and in part it is in recognition of his strong performance in the sales team over the last couple of years. He also has the contacts and skills to push forward our mid-market proposition in Ipswich and he will be central to our ability to make clear inroads in this sector.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
