Insurer launches 30-day consultation at Stockton business

Exit, sign, leave, quit, resign

AXA has confirmed that a number of jobs have been put at risk at its call centre in Stockton.

The insurer, which employs 900 people in the town, said a “small number” of jobs had been put at risk during a 30-day consultation process.

But an AXA Direct and Partnerships’ spokesman would not confirm how many jobs, or which offices or departments, would be affected.

He said: “In light of continued tough trading conditions and a need to reduce our cost base, last week we announced the start of an individual consultation process for a small number of staff across several offices which will last 30 days.

“We are of course aiming to conclude the process as quickly as possible to avoid too much uncertainty and to minimise the impact on our people. No front line teams are affected so it will very much be business as usual.”
